What app will you build for the
Greater Good?

We power blockchain based privacy-preserving and governance solutions that demonstrate the power of Multi-Party Computation (MPC) to address society’s challenges around economic growth and healthcare/well-being while contributing to UN’s sustainability goals*.

* We work closely with intergovernmental institutions and charities who pledged the benefits of their work against the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG)

DeFi beyond Crypto

Take DeFi beyond crypto to tackle complex financial problems that haven’t yet benefited from blockchain’s promises of decentralization:

  • Trade finance
  • Carbon markets
  • Private lending pools
Data Economy

Give the users their fair share, while allowing them to preserve full control over their data with use cases in:

  • Private and public medical data share
  • Decentralized data exchanges

Evaluation criteria

Sound Business Plan

We look for a demonstration of market fit, customer pick-up and team or entrepreneurial drive and abilities to help the application or project success in real market conditions.

Fit with privacy-preserving on blockchain value proposition

We award applications that demonstrate how MPC privacy-by design blockchain is being used to solve for the SDG broad problems we’ve defined.

Coding and design proficiency

We will offer grants to teams that convince us they have the tech capabilities needed to bring to market their ideas.

FAQ

How to submit a grant proposal?
What the Objective of this Hackathon?

We aim to build blockchain-based tools for distributed trust that help our society flourish. But we cannot achieve this mission without a vibrant ecosystem of developers and communities created around their applications, that can demonstrate the power of MPC on blockchain and how privacy-preserving principles need to be a bedrock of any decentralized infrastructure solution for the digital economy of the future. So you’re invited!

What is MPC?

MPC, or multi-party computation, is the ultimate stage of zero-knowledge computation, as it allows both to prove that something is true and to compute the answer to a certain question without revealing any information about the input. ZK computations allow several parties to provide secret input, while the outputs can be larger, depending arbitrarily on all the secret inputs.

Why the hype?

Privacy is a human right, and whenever it is broken, individuals’ and communities’ reactions range from feelings of robbery, attack, or full loss of trust in the party perceived as an aggressor. On blockchain, privacy has been too long taken for granted, or worse, ignored, all in the name of transparency and decentralization. But years of fraud incidents and hacked platforms have proven privacy principles stand as much as in the web2 world. So MPC becomes the hero technology that solves for privacy without any sacrifice in descentralization.

Do I need a team to participate?

No, no team is necessary, if you are a superman in disguise, who’s both a coding maven and a seasoned business person. From our expereince though, teams of several talented individuals that complete each others skills set and who share a common vision and dream in regards to a project or idea are the most likely to succeed.

Where are developer resources available to view?

Check out our Documentation section here, go on GitLab to find the tools, and guides needed to start building today.

Is presence in Paris mandatory for grants eligibility?

You would be missing out on in-person mentorship and expert advice, and we would be missing you from our party, but no; if we are dazzled and convinced about your submission on November, we’ll make sure to contact you and take this further; no need to come to Paris.

Do I need to be an expert cryptographer or RUST maven to be able to build on top of Partisia Blockchain?

No, we are looking for talented developers that have a clear need and entrepreneurial drive to bring to life applications on top of our MPC powered blockchain. Combined with our documentation, UI toolkits, hours of live workshops and video class recordings we will enable you to quickly build and deploy your dream application on the Partisia Blockchain. What matters is your commitment!
